The rules for using Afrorama.
Last updated: 13 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of afrorama.org and all related features (together, "Afrorama", the "platform" or the "Service"), operated by Chloé Bertrand trading as Afrorama ("Afrorama", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using Afrorama, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Afrorama is a platform that connects Africa's talent and Afro-optimists with opportunities, resources and community in the impact economy. The Service includes, among other things: a board of jobs, internships, consultancies and capacity-building opportunities ("Opportunities"); a community discussion area ("Community"); a CV feedback tool ("No Wahala CV Booster"); salary benchmarking data ("Salary Intelligence"); micro-courses; CV and cover letter templates; and paid features such as Membership and paid job listings.
Opportunities published on Afrorama are sourced from publicly available listings, partner feeds, and direct submissions from employers via "Post a Role". Afrorama is not the employer, recruiter or contracting party for any Opportunity listed on the platform (unless explicitly stated otherwise), and we are not responsible for the conduct, accuracy of postings, or hiring decisions of any organisation listed.
While we take reasonable care to review listings, we do not guarantee that any Opportunity is accurate, current, suitable, or legitimate. You should carry out your own due diligence before applying for, or accepting, any role. If you believe a listing is fraudulent, inappropriate or out of date, please report it to hello@afrorama.org so we can review and remove it.
If you submit a role via "Post a Role", you confirm that you are authorised to advertise the role on behalf of the organisation named, and that the information you provide is accurate and lawful. We reserve the right to edit, refuse or remove any listing that violates these Terms, our content guidelines, or applicable law, including discriminatory, exploitative, unpaid roles presented as paid, or otherwise misleading listings.
Some listings require payment, processed via Stripe. Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing has been published, except where required by law or at our discretion (for example, if we remove a listing due to our own error).
The Community area is a space for networking, questions and peer support. When posting, commenting or reacting, you agree not to:
We may moderate, remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts that breach these guidelines, at our reasonable discretion and without prior notice where necessary to protect the community.
The CV Booster uses artificial intelligence to provide automated feedback on CVs you upload. This feedback is provided for general guidance only and does not constitute professional career, recruitment or legal advice, and is not a guarantee of interview success or job placement. You remain responsible for the content, accuracy and final form of your own CV.
Salary data shown on Afrorama is submitted anonymously by community members and is provided for general informational purposes only. We do not verify individual submissions and make no representation as to their accuracy, completeness, or applicability to any specific role, organisation or negotiation.
Certain features (including Afrorama Membership, CV Boost, Office Hours sessions and paid job listings) require payment, processed securely through Stripe. By purchasing a paid feature, you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge the applicable fee.
You agree not to: use Afrorama for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; scrape, copy or redistribute Opportunities or other content at scale without our permission; upload malicious code; or interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.
The Afrorama name, logo, design, courses, templates and platform content (excluding user-submitted content and third-party Opportunity listings) are owned by or licensed to Afrorama and protected by intellectual property laws. You may use templates and course materials for your personal job-search purposes, but may not redistribute, resell or publish them elsewhere without our permission. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as community posts and CVs), but grant Afrorama a licence to host, display and process it as needed to operate the Service.
Afrorama is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including as to its accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that using Afrorama will result in employment, interviews, income, or any other outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afrorama shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of income, opportunity, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, any Opportunity listing, or any third-party content. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (such as liability for death, personal injury, or fraud).
You may stop using Afrorama and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect Afrorama, our community, or third parties.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of Afrorama after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of Afrorama shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers resident elsewhere may bring proceedings, and benefit from any mandatory protections, available to them under the law of their country of residence.
If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at hello@afrorama.org.
